Optus reaches landmark agreement with NBN Co on HFC network

Optus announced today that it had reached a landmark agreement with NBN Co on the migration of its Hybrid Fibre Coaxial Cable (HFC) customers to the National Broadband Network (NBN). Under the agreement, Optus will begin the progressive migration of its customers to the NBN once the network is rolled out in an area and is ready to provide services to customers currently served by Optus’ HFC network.

Google Apps for Business to be part of Optus' new portfolio of cloud-based business tools

Optus announced today it has signed an agreement with Google to offer Google Apps for Businessas part of its range of digital business solutions for small and medium business (SMB) customers. The agreement marks Optus SMB entry into the software as a service market. Google Apps including email, calendar, office applications, instant messaging, collaboration and videoconferencing will be part of Optus new portfolio of cloud-based business tools to help SMBs manage their business. The product launch is scheduled for the second quarter of 2011.

Optus jets into Qantas Frequent Flyer alliance

Optus today announced plans to create a loyalty alliance with Qantas which will see Optus consumer and small and medium business customers earn Qantas Frequent Flyer points for their Optus products and services. The proposed alliance will enhance Optus’ existing rewards programs and will launch in the second half of 2011.

Optus answers Tasmanian's call for more choice and mobile services
